Sentosa Cove is a prestigious resort-like residential neighbourhood located in the southeast corner of Sentosa Island, famous for its idyllic marina setting and status as Singapore’s hub for fancy yachts staffed by lucky yacht staff (psst, if you ever wanted to work on luxury yachts here is a guide to) and luxury homes.
This upscale neighbourhood may lack Chinatown’s heritage or old-school vibe in areas like Tiong Bahru and Kampong Glam, but it carries its own culture of luxury, glamour and leisure. If you’re curious to see what life is like on the other side, then follow this Sentosa Cove guide on where to eat, drink, play and sleep.
Check out our other neighbourhood guides here.
Conceptualized in 1992, Sentosa Cove has more than 2,000 oceanfront villas, waterway bungalows, hillside mansions and condos, many with personal yacht berths so that residents can jet away on a weekend cruise straight from their backyards.
The land is part reclaimed and part of what used to be an isle called Buran Duat, which was situated east of Sentosa in the 1970s. This area never fails to make it in the news whenever one of its properties is fetched for ridiculously high prices (check out this $33.3 million bungalow!). Complementing these luxurious houses are exclusive marina clubs, five-star hotels, restaurants and other amenities.
Quayside Isle – Perfect for romantic dates, after-work drinks and special occasions, this gorgeous wooden boardwalk is a premium F&B and lifestyle space that gives non-residents a chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life. The 25+ casual to high-end restaurants and bars here offer an amazingly range of foods to fit any craving, from Indian to Greek speciality cuisine. Quayside Isle is especially scenic at night as the trees are lit up with fairy lights.
WET® Pool at W Singapore Sentosa Cove– Top off your luxe experience with a dip in one of Singapore’s largest and most glamorous outdoor pools – WET® at W Singapore, which hosts wild Endless Summer themed pool parties on the first Sunday of every month (SGD 35 nett, includes 1 drink) where models, visiting yachties and millionaires mingle. On other days, the pool is open to the public for a SGD 45++ entrance fee.
For serious swimmers, underwater speakers pump surreal beats to keep you motivated across the 1,338 sq meter pool. For those who just want to chill and soak in the sun, you can lie on massive floating beds, toss beach balls and even play table tennis in the water.
Quayside Isle offers free weekday parking from 12pm to 2:30pm, perfect if you’re looking for an office lunchtime with a difference. Otherwise, we recommend hitting their F&B outlets for dinner or weekend brunch.
