1. JAAN

This one Michelin star restaurant offers amazing food and an equally amazing view located atop The Swissôtel, 70 storeys high. Derived from the Sanskrit word for “bowl”, JAAN serves up French cuisine with a modern take, priding themselves in providing a top-notch culinary experience for diners.

Their seasonal menu means that you get the best and freshest gourmet ingredients. Currently, highlights on the menu include the Alaskan King Crab, Irish Oyster, Line Caught Snapper and more. For an authentic French meal overlooking the cityscape, JAAN is the place to be.

2. Les Amis

This chandelier-lit French fine dining establishment boasts two Michelin stars and the twelfth spot on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Evoking sophistication and elegance, the restaurant was designed by local architect Tan Kay Ngee, and features artworks by renowned Chinese artists including Wang Kun and Tang Zhi Gang.

Using prized ingredients from France, signatures on the Les Amis menu includes the cold angel hair pasta with caviar and black truffle, a light, savoury treat that leaves you wanting more. For dinner, they have three different menus- the signature, the classic, and the tasting menu which you can get a customised wine pairing with.

3. Bistro Du Vin

Under the Les Amis Group, Bistro Du Vin has a joie de vivre atmosphere and a more affordable price point than the former pick. The bustling bistro is adorned with quaint memorabilia that brings a little corner of France to Singapore.

This homely French establishment serves up hearty dishes, with mains like Duck Leg Confit, Char-grilled Iberian Pork, Cheese-filled Ravioles with Ratatouille, Beef Cheek Braised in Red Wine and more. Speaking of wine, they have a great range of French wines, from Bordeaux to Burgundy.

4. Taratata Bistrot

Another cosy French bistro, Taratata Bistrot is located along the hip Keong Saik Road, where many hipsters hang out. Step in to be transported into an intimate Parisian-style bistro that would fit right on the streets of France.

From the pork platters to traditional favourites like the coq au vin, French onion soup, escargot and steak tartare, each dish represents regional French classics, brought together by French Chef and owner Bertrand Raguin.

5. Les Bouchons

Another hipster spot, Les Bouchons is located at Ann Siang, and is frequented by many, so be sure to make your reservations to avoid the crowd. A cosy and casual French joint, they serve authentic French cuisine with prices that are easy on the wallet as well.

Highlights range from the Burgundy escargot with garlic butter, the jumbo grilled prawns, the prime rib, and some of the best steak frites that you can find in the city. Plus, they serve up free flow French fries with their mains too.
