The best casinos in India

The best casinos in India
October 27 02:27 2020

There is still a lot of contradictory information about gambling in India. In this article we hope to clarify this information so that you can really go out and enjoy the best casinos the country has to offer.

Gambling has been illegal in India ever since the introduction of The Public Gambling Act in 1867. But what a lot of people don’t know is that each state is actually responsible for permitting gambling and has the power to do so. So far, three states have made gambling legal and have since built some amazing casinos. These states are Goa, Daman and Sikkim.

This means that it IS actually legal to gamble in India, but only in these three states. So similar to Little India in Singapore where locals are not allowed to gamble, if anyone is caught gambling outside of Goa, Daman and Sikkim they may have to pay a fine of ₹200 or imprisonment of up to 3 months. So it’s best to stick in these areas.

There is another option to gamble in the country and that’s through the best online casino in India. While online gambling is still in its infancy, it is legal to place bets on the Internet, although it must be through a non-Indian vendor

It’s good to also understand that games in India are separated into two components, Games of Chance and Games of Skill, with only the former being the illegal one in most of the country. If you do, however, happen to be in one of the three legal gambling destinations, here is a list of the best casinos in India that are 100% legal.

Deltin Royale & other boat casinos

Deltin is by far the final word when it comes to gambling in India. They are known for their high quality gambling facilities on massive casino boats, like a larger version of the Oberoi Vrinda that explores the quiet backwaters of Kerala. Deltin Royale is their flagship casino (pun intended) that measures a massive 50,000 sqft of area with around 1000 gaming positions.

The opulent boat is decked out with VIP areas, stand alone Poker and Teen Patti (Indian Flush) rooms on two different levels. Have kids in tow? No problem as there’s a Kids Room too. You’ll never get bored with loads of entertainment at the Vegas Restaurant, live music at the Whiskey Lounge, and great shows at Sky Bar. There are also stag and Deltin Suites hotel combination packages available. Oh yeah, the drinks are unlimited!

Deltin Jaqk is the next casino boat on the list and is slightly older than the Royale but equally as fun. It’s slightly smaller and more intimate than the Royale at 12,000 sqft. It has very similar amenities and rooms too with a Sky Bar, Vegas Restaurant and live music.

The Deltin Caravela is the last of the casino boats that float along the Mondavi River near Panaji in Goa. It is the smallest of the three but still has great gaming facilities, a Sky Restaurant with live entertainment and fresh Indian food. And when you are done with the casino, make sure to explore the UNESCO-listed churches of Goa. Goa is also a great hippy town in Asia, so you can combine your time at the tables with a free spirited walk along the beaches. While it is not a nudist getaway in Asia, there is a sense of hedonism and fun.

Not only are the rooms spacious and stylish but the location is a brief 5 min walk from beautiful orange sand Candolim beach. The restaurant, Caldin, holds international acclaim for its world class authentic Goan cuisine. Toddlers can be dropped off at the creche, teens at the recreation room and couples at the spa.

So it’s not not a place to go skiing in Asia, it is a beautiful area to get in touch with nature after trying your hand at the slots.

Take your hand at Blackjack, Roulette, Poker, or Teen Patti with amazing live entertainment and a sumptuous buffet dinner with the most expansive views. Try rolling the dice in a truly spiritual area that contrasts with its fair share of tourist sites. Experience luxury combined with natural beauty and an atmosphere of the metaphysical, all in one place. And after you’re done, send a few days at one of the luxury hotels in the Himalayas.

The casino is not yet functioning in October 2020 as they are still waiting for their licenses, but when it opens, it will have around 1,500 gaming positions. We have included it because it’s on our watch list!
