Magical experiences you can have in a Koh Samui villa

Magical experiences you can have in a Koh Samui villa

Some hospitality concierges need a medal for fulfilling the most bizarre guest requests. Penguins seem to feature a lot in the list of the strangest but there are other eccentricities like a guest wanting the hotel’s bed be replaced with his own, another wanting one hundred plastic pink flamingos placed in his friend’s room or a couple wanting a picture of bacon.

But hotels are not the only ones demonstrating what we would like to call “on the job resourcefulness”. Villa staff are always ready to fulfill your wildest dreams (and needs). We chatted to luxury Koh Samui villa rental company Miskawaan to find out the best moments they have organised and the things their staff has had to find solutions for. Oh boy, are they resourceful!

A couple getting married forgot their son’s trousers only to have the villa team take them around the island to all the tailors until they found a suitable alternative.

To save you from the embarrassing moments while fueling your imagination on your next luxury villa rental, here are some magical, unique and crowd pleasing experiences the Miskawaan team regularly organises for their guests.

1. Say it with fire

Did you always want to learn how to spin fire but thought your days in a sweaty, dirty, crowded Phi Phi beach were over by a decade? Better yet. Have you ever dreamed of fireworks lighting up the sky when she said the four magic words? You only need to worry about getting a “Yes!” the villa staff will make sure the sky is on fire.

2. Learn Muay Thai (or practice yoga)

Muay Thai, Thai Boxing or “The art of eight limbs” is Thailand’s favorite combat discipline using eight points of contact instead of just the fists. You can learn Muay Thai in the privacy and comfort of your own private villa so you don’t make a fool of yourself yelling and screaming in public. Or perhaps you can free yourself from whatever chores you were assigned, just like the first Muay Thai fighter did back in the 16th century when he fought his way out of Burmese captors. Get the insider knowledge from a real teacher in his local grounds and take some moves home. If you are in favour of more spiritual endeavours, a yoga session by the beach can help you stretch, reconnect with your breath and, in the comfort of a private session, teach you the perfect way into each pose, even if you are an advanced practitioner.

3. A really private beach wedding

Asia’s beach destinations like Phuket, Bali or even Koh Samui have become so popular that they are now filled with thronging crowds of backpackers and leisure seekers. The idea of your special destination wedding surely does not include a hotel or a beach filled with Instagram-star wannabees voyeuristically capturing your every move. What it surely does include is a private luxury villa with direct beach access, for an intimate barefoot wedding.

4. A company offsite with sand between your toes

Ditch the dark rooms, the soggy croissants, the watery coffee and the views over concrete walls for a conference room by the beach and a team building event with a side of sea breeze and sand between your toes. We guarantee that everyone will want to attend that one and, guess what, it is likely cheaper than booking a soulless meeting room in a CBD hotel. If you are the boss, this will for sure make you the most popular among your team.

5. Party the night away

Any celebration will always end with a sleepless night and a morning after. Let yours be spent in the company of your loved ones and not with the strangers staying at your hotel. Make sure that the only noise you hear the morning after are the waves and that you don’t miss breakfast because it ended at 10,30am. Instead, arrange the music you like playing until the last guest leaves (or until you decide the party’s over!) and enjoy breakfast (Nutella pancakes anyone?) with the people you love remembering the funniest moments of the night before.

Bonus! 6. A celebration to everyone’s budgets

Getting everyone together at the same hotel often means some friends will stretch their budget too much for comfort while others will downgrade their preferences. Renting villas that are next to each other with varying sizes and types of rooms will make sure you can cater to all wallets while still having everyone under one roof.

And after the wedding you may well need a holiday. One of the many yoga retreats in Koh Samui are always a good idea.
